Born from a son's devotion to his mother The Best Dirty Lemonade celebrates its 5th anniversary with 4 new flavors, store pop-ups, giveaways & events nationwide
Freedom, ownership & legacy are woven into who we are. Black ownership in cannabis is still the exception, not the rule. This brand is proof that we can build something lasting on our own terms.”
ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- he Best Dirty Lemonade, the Black-owned, cannabis-infused lemonade founded by entrepreneur Omari Anderson, today announced a year-long celebration of its fifth anniversary — anchored by the launch of four new flavors and a full year of store pop-ups, giveaways, tastings, and community events honoring a brand that began as one son's act of love.— Omari Anderson
The story starts with a mother and a son. Long before there was a brand, there was Jacquelin "Lady J" Rickerby-Anderson — the woman who raised Omari on fresh-squeezed lemonade, poured generously for him and every friend who passed through her kitchen. When Lady J was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at just 53, Omari did the only thing that felt right: he poured for her. Drawing on the recipes she'd made his whole life, he crafted a lemonade of his own — a small, daily act of love meant to bring his mother comfort, familiarity, and a taste of home as her memory slipped away.
That recipe became his way of holding on to her. After her passing, the friends who'd grown up on Lady J's kitchen-table lemonade urged Omari to share it with the world. In 2021, The Best Dirty Lemonade was born — named for the woman who taught him that love is something you pour for other people.
"My mother taught me that love is something you give away — you pour it for other people," said Omari Anderson, founder and CEO of The Best Dirty Lemonade. "This started as a way to give back to her what she gave to me my whole life. Five years later, every bottle still carries her name and her spirit. Celebrating this anniversary all year long is how we keep her with us — and how we share that love with our community."
In five years, The Best Dirty Lemonade has grown from a recipe born of grief and love into one of the most recognizable independent cannabis beverage brands in the country, with features in Forbes, Black Enterprise, CBS, and on Montel Across America. Along the way, Anderson has used the brand's platform to champion equity in an industry where Black ownership remains rare, and the communities most harmed by cannabis prohibition are too often excluded from the legal market.
To mark the milestone, the brand is making its boldest move yet: four new flavors — Mango, Grape, Cherry Limeade, and Pineapple Ginger — join originals Classic Lemonade, Strawberry, and Blue Raspberry to take The Best Dirty Lemonade Seven Deep. With seven flavors to choose from, fans are invited to pick their pour and find a new favorite, five years in the making.
"Freedom, ownership, and legacy are woven into who we are," Anderson added. "Black ownership in cannabis is still the exception, not the rule. This brand is proof that we can build something lasting on our own terms."
The fifth-anniversary celebration launched on Juneteenth and runs through the year, with the Seven Deep flavor drop leading a rolling series of store pop-ups, giveaways, tastings, and community events across the brand's markets. Fans can follow along — and be first to hear about each drop and appearance — through the brand's channels and its Inner Circle email and SMS community.
